It looks like Apple is preparing for the upcoming launch of Apple Music Classic, a standalone classic music app that will be available alongside the ‌Apple Music‌ app.

References to Apple Classical appeared in the backend code that Apple used, suggesting that we may be seeing classic “Apple Music” debut in the near future.

Classic “Apple Music” will be built around Primephonic, a classic music service purchased by Apple over a year ago. When Apple acquired Primephonic, the company promised to improve the classical music experience for Apple Music subscribers.

Apple said there will be a “dedicated classical music app” coming in 2022, with the app combining the classic Primephonic user interface with “more added features.” With nearly 90 days left until the end of the year, there isn’t much time left for Apple to put together the promised 2022 timeline.

No new tags on the classic Apple Music‌ added in iOS 16.1 beta yet, so Apple could save it for the future iOS 16 Release planned before the end of the year.
