College football standings schedule and release dates

The 2022-23 college football semi-finals and national championship game are scheduled to be played on December 31, 2022 and January 9, 2023.

But before the four teams play in the semifinals for the title, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will release six pools of the top 25 rankings for the entire season. The first is Tuesday, November 1.

These rankings will be released weekly through November and early December. The final 25 teams, which will reveal the four teams that will play in the college football semifinals, will be announced on Sunday, December 4.

This is the timeline for the top 25 announcements from CFP. All times Eastern Time:

  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 1
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 8
  • 9 p.m. Tuesday, November 15 (approximate time – to be revealed between classic Champions Basketball games)
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 22
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 29
  • 12 noon on Sunday 4 December (Choice Day)
