Powered by Verizon, Track has upgraded its on-site wireless communications service, which includes Frontstretch towers and Grandstands
Tladega, Ala. (September 22, 2022) – Heading into the NASCAR Playoffs Tripleheader Weekend, Talladega Superspeedway today announced that new Wi-Fi connectivity has been implemented in areas across the 2.66-mile venue—including the front towers and grandstands—that will enhance the racing experience for track fans.
In partnership with Verizon, the official At-Track Wi-Fi partner for 12 NASCAR-owned racetracks (which includes the Talladega Superspeedway), as well as official wireless communications and NASCAR’s 5G mobility partner, the track has upgraded its on-site wireless communications service for Week 1 October 2, which will feature the YellaWood 500, the second race in Round 12 of the NASCAR Cup Series. As a result, fans will have a trusted connection to share and send photos and videos of the races in real time, stay on top of their favorite drivers, and connect with fellow fans on and off the track.
“There is no racetrack on the planet that offers the best racing, as well as the best experience, like the Talladega Superspeedway, and now we are making this experience even better for our fans,” said Brian Crichton, President of Speedway. “Fans want to spend their time here in Talladega and share it with others. We are excited to say they have this opportunity now.”
Powered by Verizon, new Wi-Fi covers the front extension, which includes the runway and tower seats (8/10 miles long), suites, concourses, and entrance gates. Other coverage areas include camping along the Alabama Gang Superstretch (both indoors – Superstretch RV and off-site – Allison Motorhome Ridge, etc.), designated areas within the popular playground (including the Talladega Garage Experience and Talladega Blvd. Bar and Shower House inside the turn 4) as well as outside the front extension at Midway (Fan exhibits, Trackside LIVE theater and souvenir kiosks) and Shower House outside Turn 1.
It will be easy for fans to connect via the following while they are on the track:
- Network: #Talladega_GuestWiFi
- Select #Talladega_GuestWiFi from the list of available networks in the Wi-Fi settings
- After the login screen appears, join the network. Once done, you are connected.
