SAS has announced its Viya AI, analytics, and data management platform, now available as a Microsoft Azure Pay-as-You-Go marketplace option, bringing broad analytics power to anyone — and at a price that means there’s no reason not to include analytics in your apps.
sass Director of Artificial Intelligence and Analytics Alice McClure speak with iTWire About the ad, saying “We believe everyone should try analytics everywhere.” Specifically, it has expanded, the phrase “ubiquitous” means that analytics capacity must be portable and non-cloud, and must provide a range of flexible consumption options.
“Experiencing analytics anywhere is fundamental to us, and what we have launched is available to users and customers in a flexible way, including self-service and paying for it as you need it,” McClure said.
Specifically, McClure announced that SAS Viya is now available as an on-demand, consumption-based Azure Marketplace app at an almost insane price of $0.55/hour, based on the vCPU stacks used.
Forget the upfront fees, and forget the long closing contracts; SAS allows your applications to include an advanced and comprehensive SAS Analytics portfolio for a literal cents.
The product is integrated with Azure services and applications at many levels of the stack, from ingestion to setup, pipelines, and beyond. It works with Azure data services such as Data Lake, Cosmos DB, SQL Server, Synapse, and others, and provides integrated management. It provides comprehensive flexible AI and machine learning capabilities for Azure subscribers, and provides risk-free entry to SAS for analysts, data scientists, and others interested in exploring Vita capabilities.
With SAS Viya in the Azure Marketplace, you can apply AI to interpret models, monitor bias, manage models, enable responsible AI, solve problems with automated insights, and more – all with a support community ready to help and use the language of your choice to reveal insights in seconds.
The product does not assume your previous level of SAS experience and includes in-app setup with welcome screen sample samples, quick-to-create example videos, how-to guides, educational resources, and documentation.
CEO of SAS Dr. Jim Goodnight “We are excited to offer customers a new way to access SAS Viya while continuing to provide all the powerful capabilities that users already know and love,” said Goodnight. “We’ve spent decades building the most comprehensive suite of analytics on the market, with the next generation of artificial intelligence that handles the full analytics lifecycle. We design and test our software to be the fastest and most productive. And now we’re making it all available with just a few clicks in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.”
“Our commitment to cloud innovation and AI is critical to the success of our customers – whether they are building simple reports or developing advanced AI solutions to answer critical business questions,” said SAS Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Brian Harris. “Making SAS Viya accessible to entire analytics organizations is our goal, regardless of skill level, team or programming language preferred. We want Viya to be the foundation of our clients’ innovation stories.”
