NASCAR results from the playoff elimination race at Bristol Motor Speedway

Tonight, the NASCAR Cup Series takes the green flag in Bristol, Tennessee. Half a mile from Bristol Motor Speedway is set to host the elimination qualifying race.

16 drivers in qualifying before the start. Only 12 drivers will remain in qualifying at the small square where four will be disqualified.

Eric Almerola and Chase Briscoe put up the front row. 500 laps of short track next…

Bristol Race
Stage 1 – Report

Windings: 125 (1-125 / 500)

Green flag, Almerola wipes Briscoe across the outside fairway while Denny Hamlin takes second.

On lap 29, Ryan Blaney dives inside Hamlin for second. Fighting for space off the corner and the Hamlin elevators, Blaney takes the place.

Blaney quickly closes on the Almerola shock absorber. Driving straight, Blaney into the lead.

Lab 42, Harrison Burton, and JJ Yili all have a perforated tire. Caution out.

Blaney leads the field to the pit lane but Hamlin wins the race to the pit exit. 6 cars remain outside as Keselowski and Wallace drive them to restart.

Greene, Wallace spins tires because Keselowski is clear in one turn.

lap 84

On lap 84, Austin Sendrick marks the wall with a flat right-hand side. Don’t be warned because it digs under the green.

On Lap 91, Ryan Blaney picks up a flat right front and hits the wall! Almerola turns behind him and caution is over. All four cars with flat tires are Ford machines.

More issues for Blaney as the left rear wheel falls off after stopping. This will result in a hefty fine later in the week.

Green, Keselowski leads Christopher Bell in the second turn.

8 to go on stage one, Blaney has major issues with the rear suspension. He’s made it to the bottom and now he also has a flat right rear. Drill Blaney for repairs.

Brad Keselowski wins the first stage at Bristol Motor Speedway!

Stage 2 – Report

Windings: 125 (126-250/500)

Keselowski leads the field to the pit lane but Briscoe wins the race to the pit exit. Briscoe settled in 11th place with 10 cars left outside.

Green flag in the second stage, Chrstopher Buecher clears Kevin Harvick in the first turn.

On lap 139, the mariola collects Cindric and Harrison Burton’s pushes. Burton is on a fourth turn, beware.

Green, leading Buescher Harvick and Hamlin.

On lap 177, Wallace lost power steering while running in fourth. He dug under the green and the crew is doing repairs.

On lap 185, Ty Gibbs hits the pit lane and the crew lifts the hood. Both 23XI race machines have mechanical issues, back-to-back.

lap 195

On lap 195, Harrison Burton has another flat front on the right. Eric Jones spins at the same time, cautioned.

Martin Truex Jr. heads behind the wall. Another Toyota with power steering problems.

Greene, Buescher clears Harvick in the first turn.

On lap 235, Denny Hamlin brushes the wall with a flat right front of the third. Caution out.

Buescher leads most of the leaders to the pit lane. Christopher Bell is taking charge up front as many remain abroad. Buescher resumes 14.

Greene, Bill is evident in his first role.

Christopher Bell wins the second stage at Bristol Motor Speedway!

Stage 3 – Report

Number of turns: 250 (251-500 / 500)

Green flag in the third stage, Bill Byron leads in the second turn.

On lap 264, Kyle Larson runs out of Byron. Drive right to take second.

On lap 270, Kyle Busch is in smoke. Heading behind the wall with an engine problem and caution is over!

Greene, Suarez spin and collect Ricky Stenhouse Jr. As they spin across the track, Alex Bowman, Austin Dillon, Tyler Riddick, and others capture damage. Caution is back.

Greene, Bill driving Larson out of Turn Two.

lap 352

On lap 352, Eric Jones slowed with a flat right back, cautious.

Bill leads the leaders to the pit lane probably one last time. Larson wins the race to the exit hole!

Greene, Larson Bell wipes out in Turn 1 across the outside lane. Keselowski runs out of Bell and takes second place.

114 to go, Brad Keselowski slips Kyle Larson into the lead! He runs it to the wall, away from the corner, and closes the door. Larson drives his rear shocker out of the corner, and Keselowski holds the lead.

103 to go, Joey Logano has a flat right front and hits the pit pass under the green.

87 left, race leader Brad Keselowski has a flat right forehead! Dig under the green and handed the lead to Christopher Bell.

64 to go, race leader Christopher Bell has a punctured tire! Caution out. Kyle Larson was delivered the lead.

Larson and the rest of the leaders crashed into the pit lane. Slow stop for Hamlin and Harvick! Buescher wins the race to the pit exit with just two tyres. Elliott is out second, first with four tires.

Greene, Buescher is clear on the first turn. Elliott runs second.

38 to go, Larson brushes the wall and leads Bill under him to take the fourth.

10 to launch, Buescher leads Elliott by 0.8 seconds.
