Start time, how to watch, and more

After seven rounds and 14 races, 10 drivers qualify for the Hockenheim Final with a chance to become the second GT3 Champion in the DTM.

BMW driver Sheldon van der Linde sits at the top of the table with 130 points, but he must bounce back from a disastrous weekend at Red Bull where he failed to collect a single point.

Lucas Auer is Mercedes’ main hope in defending his title and sits just 11 points behind Van der Linde, but he has not won a race since the season opener in Portimao and will count on his persistence to snatch his first title.

Rene Rast is just a point behind Auer in third and will be looking to carve out a career time as an Audi driver with a fourth title, having successfully returned to the championship this year after spending the 2021 season in Formula E.

Thomas Brenning is a surprise inclusion in the championship battle after his second win of the year in Austria, but it would be naive to exclude a Porsche driver from the title fight, especially if it rains again in Saturday’s race.

Mirko Bortolotti is fifth in the standings but leads by just 16 points, and his experience could go a long way in securing Lamborghini’s drivers’ title just the second time out of question.

The drivers down to Maximilian Götz in 10th place have a calculating chance of winning the title, but only the five names mentioned above have a realistic chance of being crowned.
